Department of Physics

The Department was established in the year 1975 with the commencement of the science groups in the Intermediate course. B Sc degree course was affiliated by Calicut University back in year 2000 and the intake for the current academic year is 34. The Post graduate programme in Physics commenced in the year 2012 with an intake of 10 students and the number of seats has been increased to 12 in the current academic year .Through these years the Department of Physics has earned the reputation as a premier destination. Classes are handled by well trained teachers who have gained reputation in their fields. The department frequently conducts seminars/lectures by inviting reputed academicians and scientists from various national and international institutes. The department is equipped with a well established materials research laboratory.The department aims to  be a competent Physics department which addresses Global challenges by training the students in principles and techniques in physics and supporting to gain knowldge through experince on various experiments and measuring instruments.
